AP Acidification potential

Acidification is mainly caused by the interaction of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) gases with other components of the air. The uniquely assigned consequences include u.a. the acidification of lakes and waters, which leads to a decimation of fish stocks in numbers and variety.
The acidification potential is expressed in kg-SO2 equivalents. The characterization factors according to ÖNORM EN 15804, Annex C are used for the calculation. For older LCA data (prior to publication of ÖNORM EN 15804: 2014), the average "European acidification potential" according to CML 2001 v3.9 was used.

Proof: LCA according to "inclusion criteria for product-specific LCA data into the baubook".
