2. 1. 3. Limit for the plastic content of mineral products

The plastic content of mineral products such as plaster finish or walling materials should be limited because:

• plastic components make products difficult to dispose of;
• plastic is made from fossil resources;
• many resources are needed for the production of plastics, and their interim products may be problematic;
• properties that have a positive effect on the indoor climate may be altered due to plastic components.
  

The plastic content of solid building materials, building boards, plastering and mortar must not exceed 3% by weight. In the case of mortar used for finishing, the total weight of the mortar without water added shall be used as a reference. This does not apply to plastering in thermal insulation composite systems.
